Semi-Dynamic Traffic Flow-Coupled Power-Transportation Coordinated Operation Simulation with Multi-Mode EV Integration
The promotion of electric vehicles (EVs)—a principal pathway toward transport electrification—strongly supports the low-carbon transition of energy use. Nevertheless, large-scale EV charging introduces new challenges to distribution network operation due to the spatiotemporal coupling of EVs and the time-varying nature of traffic flows that reshape charging demand distribution. To address these issues, this paper develops a semi-dynamic traffic flow-coupled power-transportation coordinated operation simulation with multi-mode EV integration. Building on a semi-dynamic traffic-flow model, a multi-mode EV regulation framework is established to characterize the travel patterns of three vehicle categories— private EVs, electric taxis, and electric buses—each with distinct integration mechanisms. The traffic flow influence is then incorporated to formulate and solve the coordinated operation simulation model. Numerical tests conducted on a modified benchmark system validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
