Revisiting the Parameter Sensitivity for Small-Signal Stability Assessment

The impact of changes in the operating conditions of a dynamical system on the small signal parameter sensitivity is examined in this letter. It further determines the parameter(s) range for which sensitivity results are consistent, ensuring greater accuracy and applicability. A single machine infinite bus system with generator model 1.0 is used to demonstrate the limitations of existing parameter sensitivity calculations.

Abstract

The impact of changes in the operating conditions of a dynamical system on the small signal parameter sensitivity is examined in this letter. It further determines the parameter(s) range for which sensitivity results are consistent, ensuring greater accuracy and applicability. A single machine infinite bus system with generator model 1.0 is used to demonstrate the limitations of existing parameter sensitivity calculations.
