Research on the Mechanism and Evaluation Method of Virtual Power Plant Participation in the Electricity Market

Building a new type of power system with new energy as the main body will greatly enhance the demand for flexible regulation resources in the power grid. China's power structure is mainly based on coal-fired power, which limits the system's adjustability. Fully tapping into flexible resources such as virtual power plants to enter the market and achieve optimized allocation of resources across the entire grid is an effective way to solve this problem. This requires the construction of a power market that can fully utilize flexibility and the establishment of an operational performance evaluation method. In view of this, this article puts forward the challenges and relevant suggestions faced by virtual power plants in participating in the market. Finally, from multiple dimensions such as regulation capacity, regulation effect, promotion of clean energy consumption, and economy, the evaluation indicators of the operation effect of virtual power plants participating in the electricity market are studied, in order to provide reference for the mechanism and evaluation indicators of virtual power plant participation in the market in China
