Energy storage coupled thermal power frequency dynamic response model
In the context of the transformation to a new power system, the issue of system inertia decay and frequency instability caused by high proportions of renewable energy integration is becoming increasingly prominent. This study proposes a multi-time-scale coordinated control method for energy storage and thermal power dynamic frequency regulation, constructing an integrated optimization framework for source-storage coordination in terms of frequency safety and economic operation. First, a power system frequency response model is established that considers the time-varying characteristics of unit inertia and the dynamic relationship between energy storage charge state, revealing the nonlinear interaction mechanism between new energy penetration and system frequency stability. Simulation analysis based on the Northeast regional grid shows that the proposed model, through the spatiotemporal complementary characteristics of rapid power response from energy storage and inertia support from thermal power units, significantly enhances system operational economy while ensuring frequency safety constraints, providing an effective frequency coordination control solution for high-proportion new energy power systems.
