Optimal Reserve Planning Method for Wind Power Integrated Power Systems Based on Conditional Cost-Benefit Analysis
With the large-scale integration of wind power into power systems, the intermittent nature of wind energy has transformed system uncertainty from load-side to bidirectional, affecting both generation and load. This uncertainty poses significant challenges to power system reliability. Traditional reserve capacity planning is now limited in economics and reliability. This study uses a conditional cost-benefit framework, incorporating sequential Monte Carlo simulation (SMCS) and stochastic production simulation to evaluate the impact of reserve capacity on system reliability under varying wind integration scenarios, aiming to optimize reserve requirements. Findings suggest that optimal reserve capacity are influenced by wind penetration levels and risk preferences, offering insights for planners address the complexities of renewable energy integration.
