Comparative Analysis of Kapton Polyimide and Copper Based Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection
The article shows the development of an on-body patch antenna for biotelemetry using a novel material called Kapton Polyimide, as well as a comparison to more conventional materials such as copper. The primary goal of this research is to perform a comparative analysis of two different novel materials for detecting breast tumors and cancers by monitoring changes in the S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf> parameter. Rogers is used for the antenna substrate, copper for the ground, and Kapton Polyimide for the patch. The antenna dimensions are 20 mm x 15 mm x 1.2 mm. The performance of the antenna was evaluated using breast tumor and breast cancer phantom models. It was found that the suggested antenna's resonance frequency was 8.152 GHz. In an open space, the return loss is -55.52 dB, with a VSWR of 1. The return loss of tumors breasts is -33.76 dB at 9.04 GHz, that of malignant tumors is -33.77 dB, and that of normal breast is -33.8 dB at 9.088 GHz. This antenna operates between 2 to 10 GHz. The SAR of the suggested antenna in 1g of tissue is 0.83 W/kg.
