Coordinated Control of Photovoltaic-Energy Storage Hybrid Microgrid Based on Adaptive Variable Step Size Maximum Power Point Tracking
With the growing global energy demand and the increasing severity of environmental issues, microgrid systems incorporating photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage (ES) technologies have become a key research focus due to their efficient utilization of renewable energy and enhanced power supply stability. This paper presents a design methodology for microgrid PV-ES hybrid systems based on a coordinated control strategy. The approach integrates Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms, a constant voltage control strategy for energy storage units, and PQ and VF control strategies for the bidirectional AC/DC converters, ensuring system stability and efficiency in both grid-connected and islanding modes of operation. By constructing a simulation model of the microgrid PV-ES hybrid system and validating it on the MATLAB/Simulink platform, the results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy effectively achieves high-efficiency utilization of photovoltaic generation, optimal management of the energy storage units, and stable system operation. The simulation waveforms are smooth and meet power conservation requirements. This research provides both theoretical and practical support for the further optimization of microgrid control strategies and the promotion of efficient utilization of renewable energy.
