We Make Our Worlds: A Buddhist Challenge to the Worldview of Economics

This essay engages with Anthony Annett’s recent book Cathonomics, from the perspective of the Buddhist tradition. It embraces Annett’s goals, while yet critiquing one of his methods. In particular, it uses Buddhist thought to critique the positivistic commitments and methods that undergird the discipline of Economics’ approach to understanding human beings and how we make our shared, social worlds.
