Optimized T-S Fuzzy Logic 2 Enhanced Observer for Twin Rotor Backstepping Control

This paper provides a novel resolution to improve the performance of backstepping control in dynamic system, which is developed by designing high gain observer combined with Type-2 Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy. Since dynamic systems are usually nonlinear and strongly interacting, it's difficult to control them by traditional methods. The high gain observer is used for fast estimation of the system states, so tracking performance cannot be improved. Although high gains are employed for the control, which makes it in general sensitive to disturbances and noise, this sensitivity is however mitigated by Type-2 Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy adapting observer gains on the fly as a function of different system conditions. The combination of both is what allows for robustness and at the same time accepts fast response times which make it ideal for uncertainties in dynamic systems. The simulation is conducted to corroborate the validity of the proposed method and shows that improved system stability and a better performance obtained.
