RESILIENCE OF SOCIETY FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Purpose: In the face of numerous disruptions and crises, leaders across public and private sectors are recognizing the need for resilience in our societies and institutions. This paper aims to explore collective action across key resilience themes, seeking solutions in an increasingly disrupted world. The relevance of resilience in society is examined, with a focus on various themes such as people, education, organizations, climate, and technology. The analysis of these themes provides essential implications for society, managers, marketers, and system companies. Methodology: To conduct the research, a brief review of literature is proposed. Multiple databases including Science Open, Springer, Semantic Scholar, JSTOR, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and so on are searched for relevant studies on resilience in society. The analysis includes a brief thematic analysis where 3 themes with codes would be generated for further discussion of the interpretations of the results. Data is collected from 2012 to 2023 and the quality assessment of the articles would be carried out using a CASP tool. The study also identifies significant research areas within the field and highlights the leading research countries and their contributions. This information can guide future research directions and encourage further exploration of resilience in society. Findings: The key findings of the research suggest that in the present world, a resilient society would recognise the predominant transformative forces at play such as climate changes, urbanizations, globalization, technological advancement as well as patterns of demographics. Within a resilient society, there are strategies for addressing systemic challenges and transforming them to opportunities. Practical Implications Overall, this research paper aims to provide insights into the concept of resilience in society and its applications. By analyzing existing studies and trends, it offers a comprehensive understanding of the current state of research in this field. The findings can inform decisionmakers, policymakers, and researchers, guiding them towards effective strategies for building resilience in our societies and institutions.
