Heat, light, and energy applications

Any object emits or receives thermal radiation. In recent years, the use of photonic structures has led to enhanced capabilities for manipulating thermal radiations. Such capabilities may open new possibilities for energy technology. In this talk, we will discuss some of the recent developments of thermal radiation control using photonic structures, as well as application opportunities including radiative cooling.

Abstract

Any object emits or receives thermal radiation. In recent years, the use of photonic structures has led to enhanced capabilities for manipulating thermal radiations. Such capabilities may open new possibilities for energy technology. In this talk, we will discuss some of the recent developments of thermal radiation control using photonic structures, as well as application opportunities including radiative cooling.
