Two-dimensional cyanobacteria array printed by optical vortex laser induced forward transfer

We report on the first direct print of a 2-dimentional (2D) biomaterial (cyanobacteria suspension) dots array by employing optical vortex laser induced forward transfer (OV-LIFT) technique. The printed dots with a dimeter of 51±5 microns were uniformly circle. Interestingly, the survival rate (>89%) of cyanobacteria cells in the dots printed by OV-LIFT was significantly higher than that (>63%) obtained by a conventional LIFT.

Abstract

We report on the first direct print of a 2-dimentional (2D) biomaterial (cyanobacteria suspension) dots array by employing optical vortex laser induced forward transfer (OV-LIFT) technique. The printed dots with a dimeter of 51±5 microns were uniformly circle.
