Controlled Synthesis of ZIF-8 and Hybrid CsPbBr 3 @ZIF-8 with Enhanced Stability and Functional Optical Property
Halide perovskite quantum dots, CsPbX[Formula: see text] have attracted significant attention for their distinctive photoluminescence properties. However, their instability has impeded practical applications. Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8), a prominent metal-organic framework (MOF), is extensively studied for its superior performance across various fields. In this work, we reported the controlled synthesis of ZIF-8 nanocrystals by tuning the molar ratio of metal ion (Zn[Formula: see text] to ligand (2-MeIM) and selecting appropriate zinc precursors. The resulting ZIF-8 particles exhibit diameters ranging from approximately 200[Formula: see text]nm to 1.4[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m. Furthermore, we reported hybrid CsPbBr 3 quantum dots embedded in ZIF-8 via a one-pot method. The pore structure of ZIF-8 effectively regulates the QD size and significantly enhances their stability. This approach is cost-efficient, scalable and reproducible. A green light-emitting diode (LED) was fabricated using the CsPbBr 3 @ZIF-8 composite, and a white LED with chromaticity coordinates of (0.32, 0.31) was achieved. This study provides a promising strategy for developing stable and bright hybrid materials for optoelectronic applications.
