Evaluation of Fungicide Programs for the Management of Alternaria Leaf Blight and Head Rot in Broccoli in Tift County, Georgia, 2024 to 2025
Alternaria leaf blight and head rot (ABHR), caused by Alternaria brassicicola, is an economically important disease of brassicas including broccoli. The pathogen causes lesions with concentric rings that gradually fall off as the disease progresses, giving a shot hole appearance. This disease can result in considerable yield losses in commercial broccoli production fields. This report provides data for the efficacy of two different fungicide programs and highlights the importance of an early initiation of systemic fungicide programs for the management of ABHR in broccoli.
