Enhancing Patient Communication and Health Literacy through AI-Enabled Services: A Pathway to Improved Patient Experience

This research explores the impact of AI-driven services on improving the patient experience, emphasizing the quality of communication and health literacy. Employing a cross-sectional, quantitative method, information was gathered from 200 individuals in the Delhi/NCR area who had engaged with AI-driven healthcare technologies such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and mobile apps. The results indicate a statistically significant positive relationship between the utilization of AI-powered services and enhanced communication between patients and healthcare professionals (r = 0.536, p < 0.01). Additionally, the research noted a moderate but significant relationship between AI-driven instructional resources and enhanced patient comprehension of health information (r = 0.376, p < 0.01). These findings indicate that AI can enhance patient empowerment through timely, consistent, and easily accessible communication and educational materials. The research highlights the importance of combining AI tools with human-led assistance to enhance their effectiveness, particularly in boosting health literacy. The study finds that AI acts as an important addition to conventional care, improving patient satisfaction and aiding patient-focused healthcare delivery, especially in advancing digital healthcare systems.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of AI-driven services on improving the patient experience, emphasizing the quality of communication and health literacy. Employing a cross-sectional, quantitative method, information was gathered from 200 individuals in the Delhi/NCR area who had engaged with AI-driven healthcare technologies such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and mobile apps. These findings indicate that AI can enhance patient empowerment through timely, consistent, and easily accessible communication and educational materials. The research highlights the importance of combining AI tools with human-led assistance to enhance their effectiveness, particularly in boosting health literacy.
