Abordaje clínico contemporáneo de las sialoadenopatías inflamatorias: Análisis crítico de la literatura científica
Inflammatory sialadenopathies encompass a heterogeneous group of disorders affecting the major and minor salivary glands, with etiologies ranging from acute bacterial infections to chronic autoimmune processes. This literature review aims to critically examine recent scientific publications on the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, identifying the most updated and effective clinical approaches. Articles were selected from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and SciELO, prioritizing clinical studies and systematic reviews published in the last ten years. Findings emphasize the need for comprehensive assessment involving advanced imaging, serological tests, and, in complex cases, glandular biopsy. The emerging role of targeted antibiotics and immunomodulatory therapies is also highlighted, along with the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. Early diagnosis and appropriate intervention are essential to prevent complications and preserve salivary gland function.
