Technological Development and Economic Benefit Analysis of Renewable Energy

The rapid increase in global vehicle ownership has led to a growing accumulation of waste tires, which pose severe environmental and public health challenges due to their resistance to natural degradation and risks of uncontrolled disposal. Traditional methods such as landfilling and incineration not only waste potential resources but also generate pollution, making the search for sustainable alternatives both urgent and essential. This paper examines the technological development, economic benefits, and challenges associated with energy recovery from waste tires through pyrolysis, framed within renewable energy and environmental economics perspectives. The analysis highlights key technological innovationssuch as catalytic and microwave-assisted pyrolysis, advanced reactor designs, and product upgradingthat enhance process efficiency and product quality. Economic impacts are gauged through contributions to renewable-energy deployment, circular-economy gains, and monetized environmental externalitiesan assessment that weaves together economic theory, valuation formulas, and policy implications. This study identifies major challenges, including high capital and operational costs, market volatility, public acceptance barriers, and regulatory uncertainties. Findings suggest that with supportive policy frameworks, technological refinement, and effective stakeholder engagement, pyrolysis can serve as a viable pathway to reduce environmental burdens, conserve resources, and strengthen renewable energy portfolios.
