Effect of Seed Rate on Wheat (<i>Triticum aestivum</i> 2n = 42) Growth at Right Side of Dadu Canal Sub District Dokri District Larkana Sindh Pakistan

The experiment will be to determine the influence of different seed rates on the growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum L., 2n=42) in Dadu Canal Subdistrict, Dokri District, Larkana, in the 202425 agricultural season. A field experiment was conducted using three seed rates of 125, 150 and 175 kg/ha using a drilling sowing method to ensure uniform seed distribution and optimum germination conditions. To enhance reliability of results, the experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The main growth parameters that were measured were plant height, number of tillers, spike length, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, and 1000-grain weight. The measurements were made at different growth stages to establish how seed rate influenced these variables. Preliminary findings showed that seed rate was a major factor affecting the growth of wheat. The highest rate of 150 kg/ha gave the best results because it led to increased tiller development and leaf area index. The 125 kg/ha rate was not good, and the 175 kg/ha rate led to competitive stress among plants, which reduced the overall growth. The study determines the significance of appropriate seed rate in maximizing wheat yield and plant health. The findings can be applied to advise farmers in the region on the seed rate to use to boost productivity. The combined effects of seed rate, soil nutrition, and water management are to be investigated in the future to develop integrated agronomic solutions to sustainable wheat production in the Dadu Canal Subdistrict of Dokri.
