PASSWORD BASED CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND SECURITY

Electricity is a fundamental necessity in our daily lives, but it can also pose significant risks if not managed properly.Traditional circuit breakers protect against electrical faults such as overcurrent or short circuits, but they lack user-level security and access control. To address this gap, the Password-Based Circuit Breaker system is proposed as an effective solution for enhancing both electrical safety and security. This project introduces a microcontroller-based circuit breaker system that operates only when a valid password is entered by the user.Unauthorized users are prevented from turning the power on or off, thus avoiding potential accidents, tampering, and energy misuse. The system includes a digital input interface (such as a keypad or touchscreen), a microcontroller (e.g., Arduino or 8051), and a relay mechanism to control the electrical load. The core objective is to ensure that only authenticated individuals have control over the power supply, making the system ideal for use in homes, laboratories, offices, and industrial setups. The system can also be enhanced with features like intruder alerts, attempt logging, and remote access for better monitoring and control. The Password-Based Circuit Breaker not only reinforces safety from electrical hazards but also introduces a smart security layer to traditional power systems, aligning with the growing trend of digital automation and smart infrastructure.
