CURRICULARIZAÇÃO DA EXTENSÃO NOS CURSOS DE LICENCIATURA

The article addresses the challenges of teacher training, emphasizing the importance of integrating theory and practice, which have traditionally been treated separately in curricula. The key to this integration lies in pedagogical work, which unites theory and practice and is articulated with research and extension. The curricularization of extension, regulated by Resolution No. 7 MEC/CNE/CES of 2018, is seen as a strategy to strengthen this integration. In the context of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the discussion on the curricularization of extension began in 2016, with efforts to incorporate extension into the curricula of undergraduate courses. The article highlights the experience of the School Organization and Management course, offered on the Blumenau campus, which uses 18 of its 72 hours for extension activities, integrating teaching and research. The experience report explores the perspective of the curricularization of extension through the work developed by Mathematics undergraduate students, emphasizing the importance of contact with the school environment from the beginning of the course. The research reveals that integrating theory with practice in teacher training is crucial to developing a critical and investigative stance, preparing future teachers for the challenges of everyday school life and for a more contextualized and humanistic pedagogical practice.
