A NEW SYSTEM OF AUTOMATIC GENERATION CONTROL (AGC) FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA (ERS)
In this paper, the authors will present a new system for automatic generation control (AGC) developed for the needs of the dispatch center of the Mixed Holding „Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske“ (ERS) in Trebinje. This hierarchical control system manages the ERS power plants participating in automatic generation control (AGC) based on the requirements of the independent system operator NOSBIH. The paper is structured as follows: first, the authors will present the control algorithms and the overall organization of the control system, emphasizing its integral role within the new monitoring and control system at the ERS dispatch center. Then, the paper will delve into the software and hardware implementation of the generation control system. Finally, the paper will present the results of the initial operational tests of the control system, demonstrating its performance and efficiency. The authors aim to showcase the advancements and practical applications of the new generation control system within the framework of the Electric Power Industry of the Republic of Srpska.
