Minimally Invasive Partial Nephrectomy: Spectrum of Surgical Complications and Their Management
Summary Partial nephrectomy (PN), also known as nephron-sparing surgery, is primarily indicated for resection of T1 renal tumors and select T2 lesions. It offers the advantages of renal function preservation while maintaining oncological outcomes equivalent to radical nephrectomy. However, PN is associated with various perioperative complications that can adversely affect outcomes. This narrative review highlights the major complications associated with PN and discusses the current strategies for their prevention and management, emphasizing evidence from contemporary literature.
