Effect Of Different Modality Of High Intensity Interval Training On Cardiac Ultrasound In Female College Students Of Different Body Mass

PURPOSE: To explore better exercise strategies for preventing cardiovascular diseases and improving cardiac function in female college students of different body mass, and to provide the basis for them to formulate exercise prescription. METHODS: Sixty female college students(BMI < 28.0 kg/m2) with no regular exercise habits were recruited and participated in the study that was approved by IRB at Beijing Sport University. They were divided into underweight(UW), normal weight(NW) and overweight(OW) group according to body mass index. The design of random cross experiment was adopted, all participants in the three groups underwent acute exercise intervention with 10-20-30 training and traditional high intensity interval training(HIIT). The two modality training were performed once each with a one-week washout interval. Echocardiography was performed to determine left ventricular structure and functional indicators before training, immediately after training and 30 min after training. RESULTS: 1) Participants in NW group showed significant differences in LVIDd, EDV, SV, and CO immediately after traditional HIIT(P < 0.01), and significant differences in LVIDd, LVIDs, EDV, and ESV 30 min after training(P < 0.05). There were significant differences in LVIDd, LVIDs, ESV, and CO immediately after 10-20-30 training(P < 0.05). 2) Participants in OW group showed significant differences in CO immediately after traditional HIIT and 10-20-30 training(P < 0.05), and in LVPWs 30 min after traditional HIIT(P < 0.05). Participants in UW group only showed significant difference in EF immediately after 10-20-30 training(P < 0.05). 3) There was a significant difference in the changes of CO 30 min after training between OW and NW group(P < 0.05). There was a significant difference in the changes of IVSd between OW and NW group(P < 0.01), and in the changes of LVIDs, EF and FS% between UW and NW group(P < 0.05) immediately after training. CONCLUSIONS: Traditional HIIT and 10-20-30 training can produce different acute response to cardiac ultrasound indicators in female college students with different body mass index. The two modality training can produce a certain degree of exercise preconditioning. There are differences in cardiac adaptability of female college students with different body mass index after 10-20-30 training. Supported by: National Key R&D Program of China (2022YFC2010201)
