A Comprehensive Educational Course with a Portable MRI Scanner - from Hardware to Map

Motivation: Educate attendees on the capabilities and practical workflow of low-field MRI by using a portable 72 mT scanner in a hands-on, in-situ scenario. Goal(s): Provide comprehensive educational experience covering scanner calibration, sequence programming, simulation, and image reconstruction. Approach: We conducted an interactive, four-part track: in-situ imaging and calibration with MaRGE, sequence programming with Pulseq, simulations with MRzero, and advanced image reconstruction using BART. Results: Attendees gained practical skills in low-field MRI operations, from calibration to mapping, using open source tools. Impact: This event showcased the transformative potential of in-situ scanners in MRI education, paving the way for future educational initiatives that can enhance practical skills and foster innovation in (low-field) MRI applications.
