Comparison of susceptibility artifacts of single shot EPI DWI, ZOOMit-DWI,RESOLVE and SPLICE in prostate MRI

Motivation: DWI is important in PI-RADS when using mp-MRI. However, susceptibility artifacts caused by colonic gas frequently impact the quality of DWI and negatively impacting accurate PI-RADS assessment. Goal(s): This study aims to enhance the diagnostic performance of PI-RADS using various DWI sequences. Approach: Using various phantoms, we used parameters that provide suitable SNR and low magnetic susceptibility artifacts to obtain clinical images, confirmed through phantom studies. Results: SPLICE exhibited reduced distortion. SNR was highest for Single-shot EPI at 3.0T MRI, while SPLICE demonstrated the lowest SNR. RESOLVE3.0T has reduced susceptibility artefacts and has resulted in a high SNR. Impact: We studied the characteristics of different DWI sequences and obtained clinical images with low susceptibility artifacts by setting parameters appropriate to the sequence.
