Investigating the Influence of CSF on Diffusion Characteristics in the Parasagittal Dura
Motivation: Is ADC in the parasagittal dura influenced by CSF during fast and slow diffusion? Goal(s): This study aims to utilize DWI to assess the circulatory condition of the parasagittal dura while minimizing CSF contamination, enhancing the accuracy of ADC for a clearer representation of the circulatory status of the parasagittal dura. Approach: Water diffusion measurements in the parasagittal dura were conducted using DWI with and without the FLAIR technique across low and high b-values. Results: ADCs in the parasagittal dura measured by FLAIR-DWI were lower than those obtained through nonFLAIR-DWI during slow diffusion but were higher during fast diffusion. Impact: Given that DWI can be utilized to assess the circulatory condition of the parasagittal dura, our study investigates the influence of CSF on the diffusion of the parasagittal dura using both FLAIR-DWI and conventional DWI across low and high b-values.
