Peripheral Angiogram in Renal Impairment: The Triggered Angiography Non Contrast Enhanced (TRANCE) Approach

Motivation: Side effects of MRI contrast in imaging lower limb vessels, especially in renal impaired patients, present a significant challenge in clinical management. TRANCE offers safe solution while ensuring high diagnostic accuracy and image quality Goal(s): To present the TRANCE approach as efficient method for performing peripheral angiograms in renal impaired patients Approach: A TRANCE protocol on 3T MRI was scanned using 16 channel anterior coil and peripheral pulse unit for cardiac gating. Results: The TRANCE approach provides an efficient visualization of peripheral arteries by combining systolic and diastolic sequences to create subtraction and 3D vessel images, without contrast risk to renal impaired patients. Impact: The TRANCE approach enables safe, effective peripheral angiogram studies for renal impaired patients without the need for contrast agents. Its compatibility with standard MRI systems and non-invasive nature make it an ideal diagnostic tool for at-risk patients, minimizing nephrotoxicity.
