O Poder Aeroespacial na Organização das Nações Unidas à luz da Doutrina Básica da Força Aérea Brasileira
This article aims to analyze the Air Force’s operational functions and the main capabilities required of aircrafts in the application of Aerospace Power at the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Operations from the perspective of Brazilian Air Force (FAB) Basic Doctrine. Applying documentary research, the study used the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations – Principles and Guidelines, the Military Aviation Unit Manual and the FAB Basic Doctrine (DCA 1-1). This approach allowed to identify the capabilities required of aircraft to fly in the UN. Furthermore, by comparing the operational functions required by the UN with those provided by FAB Basic Doctrine, it was possible to identify which and how many operational functions provided by DCA 1-1 are employed in Peacekeeping Operations. As its main contribution, the study presents a comparison between the Brazilian Air Force doctrine and the application of Aerospace Power by the UN, which may serve as a reference for future Brazilian participation in Peacekeeping Operations.
