Pelvis Imaging at 0.05 T

Motivation: Significant advancements in low-cost, portable, and shielding-free whole-body ultra-low-field (ULF) MRI have enabled applications in point-of-care and intensive care unit settings, thereby increasing the accessibility of MRI. Goal(s): To develop and optimize protocols for multiple-contrast pelvis imaging on a 0.05 Tesla whole-body MRI platform. Approach: Three types of sequences, including GRE, FSE and bSSFP, were optimized for pelvis imaging. Results: High-quality images were obtained on our 0.05T whole-body MRI scanner, enabling clear in vivo visualization of various tissues, including prostate, urinary bladder, sigmoid colon, and seminal vesicle, in the pelvic area. Impact: Advancements in pelvis imaging using a 0.05 T whole-body scanner have the potential to enhance image-guided procedures, facilitate accurate targeted biopsies, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
