Macroscale Thalamus Functional Organization Disturbances and its Underlying genetic architecture in Parkinson’s disease motor subtypes
Motivation: Aim to explore the patterns of functional architecture of thalamus in different Parkinson's disease motor subtypes. Goal(s): To construct functional architecture of thalamus in Parkinson's disease motor subtypes, compare the alterations between groups to explore the gradient patterns of thalamus and its associated genes. Approach: This study compared the first two gradient alterations of thalamus among Parkinson's disease motor subtypes and healthy controls. Results: The PIGD (postural instability and gait difficulty) subtype showed a contracted thalamus gradient while the TD (tremor-dominant) subtype exhibited an expanded gradient. Impact: This study explored the functional architecture patterns of thalamus in different Parkinson's disease motor subtypes, and further explored the genes associated with thalamic gradient alterations.
