P53 status combined with MRI findings for prognosis prediction of single hepatocellular carcinoma
Motivation: Identifying patients at high risk for recurrence after hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) resection may improve patient survival. Goal(s): To develop a nomogram model combing preoperative MR image indices and P53 gene status to predict individual recurrence for single HCC patients with surgical resection. Approach: Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were employed to assess the effective predictors of HCC recurrence. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses were used to assess the predictive ability of the established nomogram for HCC recurrence. Results: The nomogram model combing preoperative MR image indices and P53-mutation showed an area under the ROC curve of 0.75 in the validation cohort. Impact: The integrated nomogram combining P53 status and preoperative MRI findings can be a valuable prognostic tool for predicting postoperative recurrence of single HCC, suggesting the potential to assist clinicians in developing more aggressive and personalized treatment strategies.
