Region-based and voxel-wise repeatability analysis of quantitative MT and MWF maps in brain white matter at 7T

Motivation: Quantitative white matter (WM) imaging is essential for longitudinal studies and following pathophysiological processes. Goal(s): This work aims to establish the variability of quantitative magnetization transfer (qMT) and myelin water fraction (MWF). Two techniques are well-established for WM imaging. Approach: Establish protocols for qMT and MWF using clinically available pulse sequences on a 7T clinical scanner. Evaluate scan-rescan differences in healthy human subjects with repositioning. Results: Brain qMT model parameters and MWF show good reproducibility and enable regional variations to be evaluated on the Siemens Terra. X systems. Impact: Accurate quantitative measures of physiological parameters are important to monitor brain structure and longitudinal clinical trials. We established protocols for qMT and MWF using clinically available pulse sequences and demonstrated good reproducibility for future multi-site clinical studies.
