Pathological Myocardial Strain Analysis Using a Novel Motion Tracking Method in 3D C-MRI

Motivation: Very low myocardial contrast in C-MRI lacks sufficient gradient information, preventing effective strain evaluation in feature tracking. Goal(s): Our goal was to enhance gradient information to achieve 2D and 3D myocardial strain measurement. Approach: We introduced a novel motion tracking technique integrated with mechanical regularization and tested on two C-MRI datasets. Results: The motion and strain of ES relative to ED have been accurately quantified, which is approximately 10% higher than existing methods. Impact: Our novel motion tracking framework enables low-contrast C-MRI to measure 2D/3D myocardial motion accurately, aiding cardiomyopathy classification and precise localization of myocardial dysfunctions.
