Advancing MR Angiography: Overcoming Time Constraints in Pathologies requiring assessment of Intracranial Large Vessels Using LAVA-Flex

Motivation: I am deeply involved in advanced MRI research programs. My commitment to excellence and continuous learning has enabled me to contribute significantly to pioneering projects, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Goal(s): MRA assessment of intracranial vessel pathologies is significantly hindered by prolonged imaging acquisition time. Purpose of this study was to assess the accuracy of LAVA-Flex MRA. Approach: Included patients were evaluated for assessment of multiple large vessel pathologies using Noncontrast MRA including 3D-TOF with HyperSense and LAVA-Flex. Results: There was good intra-rater agreement in evaluation of various pathologies using LAVA-Flex. Average image acquisition time for LAVA-Flex was significantly lower. Impact: LAVA- Flex is a useful non-invasive inflow related sequence to assess large vessels in pathologies acute ischemic stroke, intracranial aneurysm, parasellar and skull base lesions. Scan time of MRA using LAVA-Flex is about one-fifth that of 3D-TOF MRA with HyperSense.
