Cardiac T1-mapping using Open-MOLLI at 3T: a repeatability study

Motivation: Myocardial T1-mapping was introduced to improve repeatability compared to qualitative measurements but extracted T1 values vary across scanners. The use of vendor-neutral techniques provides a robust and accessible approach for standardizing measurements, but their repeatability still needs to be assessed. Goal(s): In this work we aim to study the repeatability of open-source myocardial T1 mapping (Open-MOLLI) at 3.0T and compare it to the vendor-implemented MOLLI sequence. Approach: MOLLI and Open-MOLLI sequences were acquired in 15 subjects with repetition in each session to study T1 repeatability. Results: Similar repeatability for in vivo T1 values was observed for MOLLI and Open-MOLLI at 3.0T. Impact: The open-source myocardial T1 mapping (Open-MOLLI) was tested at 3.0T for repeatability with similar results to previous works at 1.5 T. This work shows that this sequence can be easily applied in inter-scanner reproducibility studies.
