Investigating microvascular permeability of peritumoral edema in meningioma brain invasion based on DCE-MRI

Motivation: Brain invasion is a negative prognostic factor closely associated with recurrence in meningioma. Goal(s): Aimed to use dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI to elucidate the microcirculation perfusion changes of tissues both within the tumor and in its vicinity, facilitating the prediction of brain invasion prior to surgery. Approach: By point-to-point sampling, explore the relationship between disruption of the blood-brain barrier and brain invasion. Results: By analyzing images from 35 patients, the results indicate that DCE can differentiate between aggressive and non-aggressive meningiomas. Impact: This technology holds promise for enabling non-invasive predictions regarding the occurrence of brain invasion in meningioma patients.
