A Hybrid Multi-Echo Radial Look-Locker (hME-rLL) multi-slice framework for efficient liver coverage in joint T1-water, PDFF, and R2* estimation
Motivation: Improving scanning efficiency for joint estimation of PDFF, R2*, and T1-water for comprehensive liver evaluation. Goal(s): Implementation of an end-to-end framework for joint estimation of PDFF, R2*, and T1-water for the full liver. Approach: Combining 2-echo and 12-echo acquisition with a single slice selective pulse sequence, and performing joint parameter estimation for PDFF, R2*, and T1-water. For multi-slice acquisition, an optimized slice interleaving is applied to increase sampling efficiency. Results: Ahybrid multi-echo radial Look-Locker (hME-rLL) pulse sequence was implemented, and in vivo multi-slice acquisition was demonstrated to be consistent with available reference methods. Impact: Joint estimation of T1-water, PDFF, and R2* would allow for more efficient evaluation of liver condition for diagnosis and monitor of patients with steatotic liver disease.
