The clinical value of native T1 and systolic-to-diastolic myocardial volume ratio in evaluating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Motivation: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common form of primary myocardial disease, and contrast-free CMR is particularly significant for patients with impaired kidney function. Goal(s): MVs/MVd and native T1 showed potential in distinguishing HCM and its subgroups without contrast. Approach: This study explored the value of contrast-free CMR parameters systolic-to-diastolic myocardial volume ratio(MVs/MVd) and native T1 for differentiating normal hearts from HCM and subgroups based on LVEF. 75 HCM patients and 31 controls were evaluated. Results: MVs/MVd and native T1 may offer vital basis for patients with impaired kidney function in treatment stategy. Impact: The combined use of MVs/MVd and Native T1 could be a novel indicator of myocardial function without the need for contrast agents, has the potential to differentiate HCM from the control group, as well as distinguish between subgroups of HCM.
