Log Subtracted Inversion Recovery
Motivation: This study develops a novel method for producing T1 contrast at tissue boundaries. Goal(s): The goal is to develop the theory and show first results from using log subtraction of in vivo images. Approach: This is a feasibility study to produce the first images and understand the novel features. Results: The lSIR produces high contrast images with very bright contours at tissue boundaries that help to visualize structures in areas of diffuse signal. Impact: Use of the technique may allow clinicians to better visualize complex interfaces between tissues and to identify features in poorly characterized signal and partial volume mixtures.
