Consistency and stability of individualized cortical functional networks parcellation at 3.0 T and 5.0 T MRI
Motivation: The high field strengths of 5.0 T may provide more accurate topological and functional maps at individual level than that of 3.0 T Goal(s): To explore the consistency and stability of individualized cortical functional networks parcellation at 3.0 T and 5.0 T MRI Approach: The comparison was conducted based on spatial (with dice coefficient) and functional connectivity analysis (using the Euclidian distance and Graph-theory metrics). Results: The number of individualized homologous functional sub-regions was larger at 5.0 T. The spatial consistency of cortical networks was high and the functional connectivity between networks acquired at 3.0 T and 5.0 T were highly consistent. Impact: Obtaining functional atlases at individual level is important to explore individual brain function and for precision personalized medicine. This study laid the foundation for future application of individualized cortical functional networks parcellation at 5.0 T and other ultra-high field MR.
