Diagnostic value of synthetic MRI combined with MUSE-DWI in cystic solid tumors of the ovary
Motivation: Accurate differentiation of ovarian cystic-solid tumors is essential for effective treatment, but distinguishing malignant from nonmalignant tumors remains challenging. Goal(s): To evaluate a combined diagnostic model using MAGiC, MUSE-DWI quantitative parameters, and morphological features for identifying ovarian cystic-solid tumors. Approach: The study analyzed solid tumor length, O-RADS score, and ADC-MUSE values between malignant and nonmalignant groups, incorporating MUSE-DWI and synthetic PD to improve accuracy. Results: MUSE-DWI showed strong efficacy in distinguishing tumor types, with synthetic PD reducing false positives. Combining morphological indices with MUSE-DWI further enhanced diagnostic differentiation. Impact: This study demonstrates that combining synthetic MRI, MUSE-DWI parameters, and morphological features significantly improves diagnostic accuracy for ovarian cystic-solid tumors, offering a valuable tool to distinguish malignant from nonmalignant lesions, potentially reducing misdiagnosis and improving patient outcomes.
