Optimizing the Development of a Large Complex Clastic Field Through a Multi-Modeling Scenario Approach

Abstract Fast tracking the development of a complex large stratigraphic field through multi modeling approach and Front-End Loading of data gathering and appraisal. These approaches had supported the taking key development decisions in early stages of field development through clear understanding of key uncertainties and risk. The multi modeling scenarios Approach had allowed Development to capture a wide range of uncertainties. These scenarios went through different stages of validation that lead to the success of the first phase of development and Successful appraisal which had unlocked further volumes in the adjacent areas of the field. This approach of modeling had highlighted sweet area of development that were considered as high confidence areas and kept the alternative scenarios with a lower confidence. In addition, the front end loading of data and drilling have allowed to conduct additional studies for further understanding. Integration of BHI, Core, Well data and Seismic to build a distinct depositional Model which allowed to optimize felid development concepts. This had supported selecting the best development concepts for such a complex fields with the lowest exposure to uncertainties. This approach had allowed making early decision on facilities and production commitments which lead to early monetization of the project.
