Designing an Evaluation Function to Enhance Task Balance in Collaborative Learning Programs

Developing effective learning programs for elderly individuals poses significant challenges due to their diverse physical and mental conditions. Consequently, elderly people with disabilities or limitations often face barriers to participating in such programs. To address this, the authors propose a system for personalizing learning programs with collaborative approaches. However, existing systems lack mechanisms to ensure balanced task distribution among participants, which may hinder collaboration outcomes. In this paper, an evaluation function is proposed to address this limitation, focusing on achieving task balance among participants. The effectiveness of the function is analyzed through case studies, demonstrating its potential to improve collaboration outcomes. In most cases, satisfactory results were obtained, supporting the function's validity. By integrating this evaluation function into the personalization system, the study aims to resolve the identified challenges and enhance learner satisfaction in collaborative learning environments.
