Effect of Compound Ratio on the Elastic and Viscoelastic Properties of Carbon Black Fill Rubber
This study investigated the effect of compound ratios on the elastic and viscoelastic properties of carbon black-reinforced rubber by comparing the properties of rubber blends filled with carbon black mixed with fly ash and silica in equal proportions (18.67%). The mechanical properties were evaluated using a universal testing machine through uniaxial tensile and stress relaxation tests conducted at varying temperatures. The findings revealed that silica-filled carbon black rubber exhibited more pronounced hyperelastic and viscoelastic behavior, indicating higher elasticity and strength. In contrast, fly ash-filled carbon black rubber demonstrated higher initial strength but experienced a more rapid stress relaxation rate. Additionally, an increase in temperature accelerated stress relaxation, particularly at 100°C, where the rubber transitioned into a fluid state and no longer exhibited stress relaxation behavior. The results of this study contribute to enhancing the efficiency of rubber material development for car tire tread applications.
