Non-Sybilable Reputation-Based Naming in the LBRY Blockchain: An In The Wild Analysis
The LBRY blockchain is a distributed content sharing and publishing network. One of its most distinct characteristics is its novel naming scheme which, rather than first-come, first-served, instead is based on non-sybilable reputation, with users to "voting" for name-to-content bindings by staking LBRY currency. Names then resolve to the content or channel that has the most votes. In this paper we will discuss the LBRY naming system and analyze how it is being used in the wild based on four years of data from the blockchain.
