An Acoustic Study on Monosyllabic Tones of Qitai Chinese Dialect
This paper mainly studies the monosyllabic tones of Qitai Chinese Dialect. By analyzing the speech materials of two speakers from Qitai, Changji, extracting their fundamental frequencies and normalizing them, it is found that Qitai dialect in Xinjiang has three monosyllabic tones, that is, the flat tone-yinping, the falling tone-yangpingshang, the falling-rising tone-Qusheng. Among them, there is a tendency for qusheng, the falling - rising tone and yinping, the flat tone to merge, which reveals the changes and development of the tones in Qitai dialect.
