Electrochemically gated La0.5Sr0.5CoO3-δ for tunable metamaterials
This talk will discuss electrochemical gating of the perovskite cobaltite La1-xSrxCoO3-δ (LSCO) as a phase-change material for active metamaterials and photonics. We create electric double layer transistors of LSCO, gated by an ion gel, where application of a gate voltage creates oxygen vacancies that drive the phase change. This first part of the talk will discuss the dynamic optical properties of LSCO films of various compositions, and the second part on cycling endurance. The talk will end with a discussion of LSCO for tunable metamaterials.
