CONSEQUENCES OF THE ISRAEL-IRAN ARMED CONFRONTATION AND REGIONAL IMPACTS IN THE POSTCONFLICT STAGE: IN THE CONTEXT OF AZERBAIJAN’S SECURITYCONSEQUENCES OF THE ISRAEL-IRAN ARMED CONFRONTATION AND REGIONAL IMPACTS IN THE POSTCONFLICT STAGE: IN THE CONT

This article comprehensively analyzes the possible impacts of the armed confrontation that has occurred or may occur between Israel and Iran on regional geopolitical stability, as well as the risks and opportunities directed at Azerbaijan's national security interests in this context. The relevance of the topic is justified by the fact that the deepening militarypolitical confrontations in the Middle East are no longer limited to this region, but also affect strategic balances in the South Caucasus and the broader Eurasian space. The purpose of the study is to scientifically analyze the security challenges posed by the Israel-Iran confrontation for Azerbaijan and the resilience opportunities against these threats within the framework of the country’s existing foreign policy strategy. By using analytical-descriptive and comparative approaches, the research conducts a scientific analysis of possible scenarios based on Azerbaijan's geostrategic position, its long-term border relations with Iran, its diplomatic relations with both sides, and its role in energy and transport corridors. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the confrontation is presented through a comprehensive assessment of specific threat formats for Azerbaijan – in the context of border security, cyber and hybrid threats, economic and energy stability, and regional diplomatic maneuvering opportunities. The result of the study shows that although the escalation of the confrontation creates a number of security risks for Azerbaijan, the country’s balanced foreign policy, strategic alliance with Turkey, and increasing activity in international cooperation platforms enhance its ability to provide flexible and purposeful responses to these risks.
