A Structured Framework for the Effective Configuration of Commands and Events for Equipment in Digital Factory Systems

In advanced industries such as semiconductors, accurate collection of data related to the 4M 1E elements (Man, Machine, Method, Material, Environment) serves as a foundational basis for effectively managing production lines. It also plays a critical role in establishing decision-making systems and enabling high-quality, cost-efficient, and productive digital twin implementations. This study presents a methodological approach to developing communication interface specifications between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and shop-floor equipment, which is a core component of digital factory systems. The research systematically analyzes the principles of data generation and acquisition, along with the technical considerations for interface design. For each phase of interface configuration, the required types and characteristics of data are identified. By applying the proposed methodology, newly constructed digital factories can establish well-structured equipment communication specifications aligned with operational goals, thereby enhancing system reliability and efficiency.
