Development of a Travel Route Recommendation System Based on Dog Personality Traits

Recently, the demand for traveling with companion animals has been steadily increasing. However, current travel products are insufficient in addressing the unique characteristics and needs of pets. To address this gap, this study focuses on dogs, the most common companion animals, and proposes a web-based travel recommendation system that analyzes canine personality traits to generate personalized travel routes. The system utilizes the Dog Personality Questionnaire (DPQ) developed by Amanda Claire Jones (2008), which classifies dog personalities into five key factors. Based on these traits, location attributes are mapped accordingly, and a recommendation algorithm is constructed to design user-centric travel courses. The final platform integrates personality testing, analysis results, route recommendations, and linked content partnerships into a unified system. Through user testing, the system demonstrated high levels of satisfaction, indicating both practical applicability and user value.
